Removal Procedure

NOTE: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Pull back the rear compartment trim panel. Refer to COMPARTMENT TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT -- REAR .
  4. Remove the bolts from the rear bumper fascia.

  5. Remove the nuts from the rear bumper fascia.
  6. Remove the push-in retainers from the splash shield.
  7. Remove the license lamp. Refer to LICENSE LAMP REPLACEMENT .
  8. Remove the push-in retainers from the rear bumper fascia using J 38778. 
  9. Remove the rear push-in retainers from the rear bumper fascia to the rear end panel using J 38778. 
  10. Remove the rear bumper fascia from the vehicle.
