Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2002 GMC Envoy XL, 2002 GMC Envoy, and 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the left closeout/insulator panel. Refer to CLOSEOUT/INSULATOR PANEL REPLACEMENT - LEFT in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  2. Remove the knee bolster trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - KNEE BOLSTER in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  3. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) cluster bezel, Chevrolet only. Refer to BEZEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CLUSTER (CHEVROLET) or BEZEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CLUSTER (GMC/OLDSMOBILE) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  4. Remove the radio. Refer to RADIO REPLACEMENT in Entertainment.

  6. Remove the 2 screws (1) from the bottom of the air outlet assembly.
  7. Fig 2: Outlet Air Deflectors

  8. Remove the air deflectors from the outlet. Refer to Air Outlet Replacement - Instrument Panel .
  9. Grasp and pull the outlet rearward from the I/P.

  11. Remove the outlet from the vehicle.
