Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: In order to minimize door realignment, do not remove both door hinges at the same time. Do each hinge separately, and replace any broken hinges first.
  1. Open both doors.
  2. Support the door.
  3. Remove the intermediate door hinge bolts (1).
  4. Use a rag in order to clean the hinge mounting surfaces on the door.
  5. Use a grease pencil or other suitable marker in order to mark the hinge location on the door surface.
  6. Remove the door side hinge bolts (2).
  7. Remove the hinge half.

  8. Use a rag in order to clean the hinge mounting surface on the body pillar.
  9. Use a grease pencil or other suitable marker in order to mark the hinge location on the body pillar.
    IMPORTANT: Do not loosen the cone adjuster bolt (2). The cone may fall down inside the pillar. This may create a rattle situation.
  10. Remove the two 13 mm body side hinge bolts (1).
  11. Remove the body side hinge.
