Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door .
  2. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door .
  3. Remove the lock rod from the rear door inside door handle.
  4. Remove the handle rod from the rear door inside door handle.
  5. Remove the rear door inside handle (1) to rear door rivet (2).
    1. 5.1 Use a center punch to drive the rear door inside handle mounting rivet mandrel into the rivet head to create a pilot hole.
    2. 5.2 Use a 6.35 mm (1/4 in) drill bit to drill out the rivet.
  6. Remove the rear door inner door handle from the rear door.
