Compass/Temperature Mode

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, 2002 Chevrolet Impala, 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, and 2001 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

This mode displays an 8 point compass heading on left hand side of DIC. Compass will display current vehicle direction relative to one of 8 compass headings using N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, and NW for readout. Ambient temperature displays on right hand side of DIC. If ambient temperature is below 37°F (3°C), temperature reading will toggle between displaying outside temperature and word ICE for two minutes. If temperature is less than minus 40°F (4°C) for more than 2 seconds, OC will display. If temperature is above 140°F (60°C) for more than 2 seconds, SC will be displayed. If OC or SC is displayed, DTC's will be set.
