DTC B0931: Compass Sensor Circuit Malfunction: Testing

  1. Perform driver information center system diagnostic system check. See DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If driver information center system diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step.
  2. If vehicle is equipped with sun roof, go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with sun roof, go to step  4 .
  3. Disconnect DIC Black 9-pin connector C1. Check for poor connection at DIC Black 9-pin harness connector C1. Repair as necessary and go to step  5 . If connection is okay, go to next step.
  4. Replace DIC and calibrate compass. See DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER (DIC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
  5. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Operate vehicle within CODE ENABLE CRITERIA  conditions. Using scan tool, retrieve DTCs. If DTC B0931 resets, return to step  2 . If DTC B0931 does not reset, system is okay.
