Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the fog lamps, if equipped. Refer to FOG LAMP REPLACEMENT - FRONT (EXCEPT Z71) or FOG LAMP REPLACEMENT - FRONT (Z71) .
  2. Install the air deflector to the bumper if necessary. Refer to Air Deflector Replacement - Front Bumper Fascia  .
  3. Position the front bumper assembly on the vehicle.
  4. Fig 1: Retaining & Bracket Bolt

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
    IMPORTANT: Tighten the bolts in the following sequence.
  5. Install the retaining bolts (1, 2) to the front bumper.

    Tighten: 

    1. Tighten the bracket bolt (1) to 85 N.m (63 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the bracket bolt (2) to 85 N.m (63 lb ft).
    3. Tighten the brace bolt to 55 N.m (41 lb ft).

  7. Connect the electrical connector to the fog lamps, if equipped.
  8. Install the front grille Refer to GRILLE REPLACEMENT (CADILLAC) or GRILLE REPLACEMENT (AVALANCHE) .
