Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Buick Regal and 2003 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: In order to minimize door realignment, do not remove both door hinges at the same time. Do each hinge separately, and replace any broken hinges first.
  1. Open the door.
  2. Support the door.
  3. Remove the intermediate door hinge bolts.
  4. Remove the hinge spring.
  5. Use a rag in order to clean the hinge mounting surfaces on the door.
  6. Use a grease pencil or other suitable marker in order to mark the hinge location on the door surface.
  7. Remove the door side hinge bolts.
  8. Remove the hinge.
  9. Use a rag in order to clean the hinge mounting surface on the body pillar.
  10. Use a grease pencil or other suitable marker in order to mark the hinge location on the body pillar.

    IMPORTANT: Do not loosen the cone adjuster bolt (2). The cone may fall down inside the pillar. This may create a rattle situation.
  11. Remove the two 13 mm body side hinge bolts (1).

  13. Remove the body side hinge.
