Removal Procedure

  1. Place the window in the full up position.
  2. Remove the trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - SIDE FRONT DOOR  .
    CAUTION: Standard shop practices, particularly eye protection, should be followed during these operations to avoid personal injury.
    IMPORTANT: Support the back side of the rivet while driving the mandrel out to avoid bending the metal.
  3. Use a center punch to remove the rivet mandrel.
  4. Use a 6.35 mm (1/4 in) drill bit in order to drill out the door handle rivet.
  5. Open the handle clip in order to remove the lock rod from the handle.

  7. Open the handle clip in order to remove the handle rod from the handle.
  8. Remove the inside door handle.
