Removal Procedure

- Apply the park brake.
- Remove the steering column filler panel. Refer to STEERING COLUMN FILLER REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the accessory trim plate, if not equipped with a front floor console. Refer to TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ACCESSORY .
- Adjust the front floor console for access, if equipped. Refer to CONSOLE REPLACEMENT - FRONT FLOOR (D06) .
- If equipped with column shift, adjust the shift lever to LOW.
- Remove the instrument panel (I/P) outer trim covers.
- Open the I/P compartment.
- Remove the filler panel from the lower section of the I/P. Refer to FILLER PANEL REPLACEMENT - OUTER - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) LOWER TRIM .
- Remove the screw from the right end of the I/P cluster trim plate.
- Release the retaining tab on the right end of the trim plate.
- Tilt the steering column to the lowest position.
- Pull the trim plate at the right edge, working towards the left slowly, in order to release the retaining clips.
- Remove the I/P trim plate.
