Installation Procedure

Install the left exhaust manifold gasket.
Install the left exhaust manifold.
NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
Install the left exhaust manifold nuts.
Tighten

Tighten the nuts to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

Install the left exhaust manifold heat shield.
Install the left exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.
Tighten

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Install the exhaust crossover pipe nuts to the left exhaust manifold.
Tighten

Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

Install the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield.

Install the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield bolts.
Tighten

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
Install the thermostat bypass pipe. Refer to THERMOSTAT BYPASS PIPES REPLACEMENT in Engine Cooling.
Install the right engine mount strut bracket. Refer to ENGINE MOUNT STRUT BRACKET REPLACEMENT - RIGHT in Engine Mechanical - 3.1L.
Install the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to AIR CLEANER INTAKE DUCT in Removal & Installation - A/T.
Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE in Battery.
