Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the left or the right valve rocker arm covers. Refer to VALVE ROCKER ARM COVER REPLACEMENT - LEFT  or VALVE ROCKER ARM COVER REPLACEMENT - RIGHT  .
  2. Remove the rocker arm bolts and discard the bolts.
    IMPORTANT: Place the valve train parts in a rack in order to ensure that they are installed in the same location from which they were removed.
    IMPORTANT: Use care when removing the pushrods. Ensure that they do not fall down into the lifter valley.

  3. Remove the rocker arms.
  4. Remove the pushrods.
