Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Buick Regal and 2003 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. If necessary, install the trim cover protector (1) to the lower trim cover (2).

  2. Install the shift lever. Refer to SHIFT LEVER REPLACEMENT  .
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the upper trim cover (2) and secure by using the TORX® head screw (1).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screw to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

  4. Install the lower trim cover (1) and secure by using 2 pan head tapping screws (2).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 3.5 N.m (31 lb in).

  5. Install the tilt lever assembly. Refer to TILT LEVER REPLACEMENT  .
  6. Install the steering wheel onto the column. Refer to STEERING WHEEL REPLACEMENT  .
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in Air Bag Restraint Systems.
