Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Buick Regal and 2003 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the vent door (1) to the HVAC module assembly.

  2. Install the heater core cover.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the heater core cover screws.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

  4. Install the heater core outlet cover.
  5. Install the screws to the heater core outlet cover.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

  6. Install the HVAC vacuum harness bracket.
  7. Install the screws to the HVAC vacuum harness bracket.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

  8. Connect the defroster/vent door link at the vent door on the left side of the HVAC module assembly.

  9. Connect the rear floor air outlet duct to the heater core outlet cover.
  10. Install the rear floor air outlet duct (1) to the holes in the floor reinforcement.

  11. Install the floor carpet. Refer to CARPET REPLACEMENT -- FRONT in Interior Trim.
  12. Install the vacuum tank. Refer to VACUUM TANK REPLACEMENT in HVAC System - Manual.
