Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Buick Regal and 2003 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the new O-ring seals on to the evaporator tube. Refer to O-RING REPLACEMENT  .
  2. Connect the evaporator inlet tube to the condenser tube.
  3. Connect the evaporator tube to the evaporator.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the accumulator tube to the evaporator block fitting.
  5. Install the accumulator block fitting bolt to the evaporator.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  6. Tighten the evaporator tube nut.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  7. Install the condenser tube to the support clip.

  8. Install the vacuum brake booster. Refer to VACUUM BRAKE BOOSTER in Disc & Drum.
  9. Install the air cleaner assembly.
  10. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING  .
  11. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A  .
