Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Buick Regal and 2003 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING  .
  2. Remove the left front fender upper diagonal brace. Refer to BRACE REPLACEMENT -- FRONT FENDER UPPER DIAGONAL in Body Front End.
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  4. Remove the A/C compressor hose nut (1).

  5. Disconnect the A/C compressor hose from the condenser.
  6. Remove the A/C compressor hose nut (2).

  7. Remove the A/C compressor hose from the accumulator.
  8. Remove the lower air deflector. Refer to RADIATOR AIR BAFFLE AND DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT - LOWER in Engine Cooling.
  9. Remove the A/C compressor hose assembly nut from the A/C compressor.
    IMPORTANT: Remove and discard all the used O-ring and sealing washers.
  10. Remove the A/C compressor hose from the A/C compressor.
