Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Buick Regal and 2003 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the new sealing washers onto the A/C compressor hose assembly. Refer to SEALING WASHER REPLACEMENT  .
  2. Install the A/C compressor hose to the A/C compressor.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the A/C compressor hose nut.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).

  4. Install the lower air deflector. Refer to RADIATOR AIR BAFFLE AND DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT - LOWER in Engine Cooling.

  6. Install the new O-ring seal to the A/C compressor hose assembly. Refer to O-RING REPLACEMENT  .
  7. Install the A/C compressor hose to the accumulator.
  8. Install the A/C compressor hose nut (2) to the accumulator.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  9. Install the A/C compressor hose to the condenser.
  10. Install the A/C compressor hose nut (1) to the condenser.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  11. Install the left front fender upper diagonal brace. Refer to BRACE REPLACEMENT -- FRONT FENDER UPPER DIAGONAL in Body Front End.
  12. Install the air cleaner assembly.
  13. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING  .
  14. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A  .
