Installation Procedure

If replacing the accumulator, add refrigerant oil to the accumulator. Refer to REFRIGERANT SYSTEM CAPACITIES for system capacity information.
Install the accumulator to the mounting bracket.

NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
Tighten the accumulator bracket bolt clamp.
Tighten

Tighten the bolt to 4 N.m (36 lb in).
Install the accumulator.
Install the accumulator bracket retaining bolt.
Tighten

Tighten the bolt to 4 N.m (36 lb in).

Install the new O-ring seals onto the A/C compressor hose and the accumulator hose. Refer to O-RING REPLACEMENT .
Connect the accumulator hose onto the accumulator.
Tighten the accumulator hose nut (2).
Tighten

Tighten the nut to 47 N.m (35 lb ft).

Connect the A/C compressor hose to the accumulator.
Install the A/C compressor hose nut (1) onto the accumulator.
Tighten

Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

Install the air cleaner assembly.
Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING .
Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A.
