Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2002 GMC Envoy XL, 2002 GMC Envoy, and 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the wiper motor.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the 2 bolts retaining the motor to the liftgate.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  3. Connect the wiper motor electrical connector.
  4. Install the interior trim panel to the liftgate. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT -- LIFT GATE (TRAILBLAZER, ENVOY, BRAVADA) in Body Rear End.
  5. Install the spacer and the nut on the wiper motor drive shaft.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  6. Install the wiper arm. Refer to Wiper Arm Replacement - Rear .
