Installation Procedure

  1. Install the body side hinges to the body.
  2. NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the nuts retaining the body side hinges to the body.

    Tighten:  Tighten the body side hinge nuts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  5. Install the hinge pivots (1) to the body side hinges.
  6. Install the hinge bushings (2) to the body side hinges.

  8. Install the hinge bushings (1) to the liftgate hinges.
  9. Install the hinge pivots (2) to the liftgate hinges.
  10. With the aid of an assistant, install the liftgate to the body side hinge by inserting the hinge pivots into the hinge bushings and sliding the liftgate to the right.

  12. Install the liftgate hinge pivot retainers (1) to the liftgate hinge pivots.
  13. Connect the liftgate to the body wiring harness connector. Refer to WIRING HARNESS REPLACEMENT - Lift Gate .
  14. Install the liftgate struts. Refer to STRUT REPLACEMENT - Lift Gate .
  15. Install the liftgate window. Refer to Window Replacement - Liftgate .
