Installation Procedure

- Position the tie bar onto the lower radiator support.
- Install the tie bar bolts hand tight.NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .IMPORTANT: Ensure that the alignment is proper.
- Tighten the tie bar bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the tie bar bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Install the upper headlamp housing support screws.
Tighten
Tighten the upper headlamp housing support screws to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Install the radiator mounting bolts onto the rear side of the tie bar.
Tighten
Tighten the radiator mounting bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the tie bar to the radiator brace bolts (1). Access the bolts from the rear of the tie bar using an extension.
Tighten
Tighten the radiator brace bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Install the upper fan shroud. Refer to FAN SHROUD REPLACEMENT-LOWER and FAN SHROUD REPLACEMENT-UPPER (W/O M74) or FAN SHROUD REPLACEMENT-UPPER (W/M74) .
- Install the front end diagonal brace.
- Install the front end diagonal brace bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the front end diagonal brace bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the upper condenser mounting bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the upper condenser mounting bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Install the headlamps. Refer to HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY OR HEADLAMP BULB REPLACEMENT (OLD STYLE) or HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY OR HEADLAMP BULB REPLACEMENT (NEW STYLE GMC) or HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY OR HEADLAMP BULB REPLACEMENT (NEW STYLE CHEVY) .
- Install the upper radiator baffle. Refer to RADIATOR AIR BAFFLE AND DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT-UPPER .
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE (SINGLE BATTERY) or BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE (AUXILIARY BATTERY) .
