Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Sierra, 2003 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2003 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the fog lamps, if equipped. Refer to FOG LAMP REPLACEMENT-FRONT (OLD STYLE) or FOG LAMP REPLACEMENT-FRONT (NEW STYLE GMC) or FOG LAMP REPLACEMENT-FRONT (NEW STYLE CHEVROLET) .
  2. Position the front bumper assembly on the vehicle.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
    IMPORTANT: Tighten the bolts in the following sequence.
  3. Install the retaining bolts (1, 2) to the front bumper.

    Tighten 

    1. Tighten the bracket bolt (1) to 85 N.m (63 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the bracket bolt (2) to 85 N.m (63 lb ft).
    3. Tighten the brace bolt (3) to 55 N.m (41 lb ft).

  4. Connect the electrical connector to the fog lamps, if equipped.
  5. Install the front grille Refer to GRILLE REPLACEMENT (OLD STYLE) or GRILLE REPLACEMENT (NEW STYLE GMC) or GRILLE REPLACEMENT (NEW STYLE CHEVROLET) .
