Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Sierra, 2003 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2003 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the auxiliary battery relay.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  2. Install the auxiliary battery relay nuts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  3. Connect the auxiliary battery relay electrical connector (1).

  4. Install the auxiliary battery positive cable to the auxiliary battery relay.
  5. Install the auxiliary battery positive cable nut.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  6. Position the boot to cover the stud.

  7. Install the auxiliary battery positive cable to the auxiliary battery relay.
  8. Install the auxiliary battery positive cable nut (2).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  9. Position the boot (3) to cover the stud.
  10. Connect the auxiliary battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Single Battery)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Auxiliary Battery) .
