Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Sierra, 2003 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2003 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the auxiliary positive battery cable.
  2. Install the auxiliary positive battery cable to the starter stud.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  3. Install the starter lead nut.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  4. Install the auxiliary cable clip bolt to the frame.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  5. Lower the vehicle.

  6. Install the auxiliary positive battery cable clip to the battery tray.
  7. Install the auxiliary positive battery cable to the auxiliary relay.
  8. Install the auxiliary positive battery cable nut.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  9. Position the boot.
  10. Connect the auxiliary battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Single Battery)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Auxiliary Battery) .
