Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to TIRES AND WHEELS .
  3. Remove the wheelhouse panel. Refer to WHEELHOUSE PANEL REPLACEMENT .
  4. Remove the exhaust manifold. Refer to EXHAUST MANIFOLD REPLACEMENT - RIGHT (4.8L, 5.3L, AND 6.0L ENGINES) .
  5. Remove the engine protection shield. Refer to ENGINE PROTECTION SHIELD REPLACEMENT .
  6. Remove the engine mount heat shield, if equipped.

  7. IMPORTANT: DO NOT raise and/or support the engine by the crankshaft balancer, or oil pan.
  8. Raise and support the engine using an adjustable (screw type) jack stand.
  9. Remove the engine mount-to-engine mount bracket bolts.

  10. Remove the engine mount bolts.

  11. Remove the right engine mount.
