Removal Procedure

- Raise the vehicle. Refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to TIRES AND WHEELS .
- Remove the wheelhouse panel. Refer to WHEELHOUSE PANEL REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the exhaust manifold. Refer to EXHAUST MANIFOLD REPLACEMENT - RIGHT (4.8L, 5.3L, AND 6.0L ENGINES) .
- Remove the engine protection shield. Refer to ENGINE PROTECTION SHIELD REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the engine mount heat shield, if equipped.
- Raise and support the engine using an adjustable (screw type) jack stand.
- Remove the engine mount-to-engine mount bracket bolts.
- Remove the engine mount bolts.
- Remove the right engine mount.
IMPORTANT:
DO NOT raise and/or support the engine by the crankshaft balancer, or oil pan.
