Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
  2. Remove the differential carrier assembly. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement .
  3. Remove the air conditioning compressor (4.8 L, 5.3 L and 6.0 L engines. Refer to COMPRESSOR REPLACEMENT (L18)  or COMPRESSOR REPLACEMENT (LR4, LM7, AND LQ4)  or COMPRESSOR REPLACEMENT (LB7)  . 
  4. Remove the nuts and the washers from the bracket.
  5. Remove the bracket from the vehicle.
