Steering columns are designated as fixed-column or tilt-column, and as column-shift or floor-shift. Column-shift and floor-shift columns are same with an exception of shift lever and related components. Multifunction switch (located on left side of column) incorporates wiper/washer and cruise control switches, and acts as a mechanical link to hazard and turn signal switches.
