Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2002 GMC Envoy XL, 2002 GMC Envoy, and 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: Do not remove the headliner.
  1. Lower the headliner. Refer to Headliner Replacement (Trailblazer EXT, Envoy XL) or Headliner Replacement (Trailblazer, Envoy, Bravada) in Interior Trim.

  2. Disconnect the sunroof harness electrical connector.
    3. IMPORTANT: Do not remove the drain hoses.
  3. Disconnect the drain hoses from the sunroof assembly. Refer to the following procedures:

  4. Support the sunroof with an assistant.
  5. Remove the bolts that retain the sunroof assembly to the roof panel
  6. Remove the sunroof assembly from the vehicle and place on a clean, prepared surface with an assistant.
  7. Remove the drive motor from the sunroof assembly. Refer to Power Sunroof Motor Replacement .
  8. Remove the sunroof module from the sunroof assembly. Refer to Power Sunroof Module Replacement .
  9. Remove the glass panel from the sunroof assembly. Refer to Sunroof Glass Panel Replacement .
  10. Remove the sunshade from the sunroof assembly. Refer to Sunroof Sunshade Panel Replacement .
