- Check the lift gate window for proper fit to the lift gate window weather-strip.
- Open and close the lift gate window.
- If the lift gate window is hard to close, additional striker shims will need to be added.
- If the lift gate window does not seal tightly against the weather-strip, striker shims will need to be removed.
- Open the lift gate window.
- Loosen the nuts retaining the lift gate striker to the lift gate window.NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Remove or add shims as determined above.
Tighten
Tighten the lift gate window striker nuts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
- Check the lift gate window for proper fit, readjust if necessary.
- Close the lift gate window.
