Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2003 GMC Envoy XL, 2003 GMC Envoy, and 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. If the vehicle is NOT equipped with diversity antennas, perform the following:
    1. 1.1. Install the bolt to the coat hook.
    2. 1.2. Install the bolt and coat hook assembly to the headliner.
    3. 1.3. Lower the rear of the headliner far enough to access the headliner substrate.
    4. 1.4. Install the plastic washer to the bolt.
    5. 1.5. Install the metal washer to the bolt.
    6. 1.6. Hold the metal washer from rotating and install the coat hook bolt to the metal washer.
    7. 1.7. Install the bolt retaining the coat hook to the roof panel.
      NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
    8. 1.8. Tighten the retaining bolt.

      Tighten 

      Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

    9. 1.9. Install the rear headliner push pins.

  3. If the vehicle is equipped with diversity antennas, Install the retaining bolt through the coat hook.
  4. Install the metal washer to the retaining bolt.
  5. Index the mounting hole on the antenna module grounding strap to the roof panel welded nut.
  6. Install the coat hook to the roof panel, positioning the open end of the coat hook inboard.
    NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Tighten the retaining bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten bolt to 10 N.m (88 lb in).
