Removal Procedure

CAUTION:
When performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, the SIR system must be disabled. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM
. Failure to observe the correct procedure could cause deployment of the SIR components, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.
- Disable SIR. Refer to ZONE 7
and to ZONE 9
in SIR.IMPORTANT: Before removing the seat, ensure that the following conditions are met:
- For power seats, verify that the seat bottom is fully down.
- The seat back is in the full upright position.
- The upper and lower seat rails are flush at rear.
- Remove the seat mounting fastener covers.
- Remove the 3 front seat mounting nuts.
- Remove the front seat mounting bolt.
- Disconnect the electrical harness. Unclip the harness from the seat bracket.
- Remove the seat from the vehicle.
- Place the seat on a clean, prepared surface.
