Removal Procedure

CAUTION: When performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, the SIR system must be disabled. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Failure to observe the correct procedure could cause deployment of the SIR components, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.
  1. Disable SIR. Refer to ZONE 7 and to ZONE 9 in SIR.
    IMPORTANT: Before removing the seat, ensure that the following conditions are met:
    • For power seats, verify that the seat bottom is fully down.
    • The seat back is in the full upright position.
    • The upper and lower seat rails are flush at rear.
  2. Remove the seat mounting fastener covers.
  3. Remove the 3 front seat mounting nuts.
  4. Remove the front seat mounting bolt.

  5. Disconnect the electrical harness. Unclip the harness from the seat bracket.
  6. Remove the seat from the vehicle.
  7. Place the seat on a clean, prepared surface.
