Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2003 GMC Envoy XL, 2003 GMC Envoy, and 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disable the SIR. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  and to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  in SIR.
  2. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - SIDE FRONT DOOR   . 
  3. Remove the speaker. Refer to SPEAKER REPLACEMENT - FRONT DOOR  in Entertainment.
  4. Remove the water deflector. Refer to WATER DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT - FRONT DOOR   . 
  5. Disconnect the regulator motor electrical connector.
  6. Disconnect the door latch assembly electrical connector.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the SIR side impact sensor.
  8. Disconnect the body harness inline electrical connector by releasing the connector retaining tab located on the body side of the connector.
  9. Remove the door wiring harness electrical connector from the mounting bracket by releasing the mounting bracket retaining tab located on the hinge side of the connector.
  10. Remove the rubber grommet from the door access opening.

  12. Note the routing of the wiring harness and release the wire harness attachments from the door.
  13. Pass the door wiring harness electrical connector through the access opening and remove the wiring harness from the door.
