Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2003 GMC Envoy XL, 2003 GMC Envoy, and 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Lower the window to the midway point (1), if possible.
  2. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - SIDE REAR DOOR   . 
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to WATER DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR   . 
  4. Loosen the regulator glass carrier bolts (2).

  6. Slide the window to the full up position and tape it to the window frame.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the window regulator motor.
  8. Disconnect the retainer (4) securing the regulator cable to the door.

  10. Remove the 2 lower regulator retaining bolts (2,3).
  11. Loosen the top regulator retaining bolt (1).
    IMPORTANT: If the regulator assembly will not operate, removing the top regulator retaining bolt (1) completely will allow the regulator to be removed.
  12. Remove the window regulator, lifting up and out from the keyhole slot (5) on the rear door inner panel and through the access hole.
