Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2003 GMC Envoy XL, 2003 GMC Envoy, and 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Position the hood to the vehicle with an assistant.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Partially install the 4 bolts (2) that retain the hood to the hinges (3).
  3. Position the hood to the hinges at the previously marked locations with an assistant.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the hood retaining bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Install the hood insulation to the hood.
  5. Install the push-pin retainers (2).

  6. Install the underhood lamp wiring harness to the hood and hinge as previously routed.
  7. Install the underhood lamp to the hood by seating the retaining tabs.
  8. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the underhood lamp.

  9. Install the ground terminal retaining bolt (1) to the hood.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the hood ground terminal bolt to 10 N.m (7 lb ft).

  10. Install the front hood molding. Refer to MOLDING REPLACEMENT - HOOD FRONT  in Exterior Trim.
