Removal Procedure

  1. Apply tape to lift gate around area of molding.
  2. Open the lift gate.
  3. Remove bolts retaining high mounted stop lamp. Refer to HIGH MOUNTED STOP LAMP REPLACEMENT  in Lighting Systems.
  4. Remove retaining bolts (1) that secure molding to top edge of lift gate.
  5. Separate bottom edge of the molding from glass using a plastic, flat-bladed tool to release adhesive strip (2) from glass.
    NOTE: Use a plastic, flat-bladed tool to prevent paint damage when removing an emblem/name plate.
  6. Remove the molding from the vehicle.
