Removal Procedure

- Remove the left closeout insulator panel. Refer to CLOSEOUT/INSULATOR PANEL REPLACEMENT - LEFT .
- Remove the knee bolster trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - KNEE BOLSTER .
- Remove the instrument panel cluster (IPC) bezel, Chevrolet only. Refer to BEZEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CLUSTER (CHEVROLET) or BEZEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CLUSTER (GMC/OLDSMOBILE) .
- Remove the instrument panel (I/P) accessory trim plate, GMC or Oldsmobile only. Refer to TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ACCESSORY (CHEVROLET) or TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ACCESSORY (OLDSMOBILE) .
- Remove the screws retaining the IPC to the I/P.
- Partially remove the IPC from the I/P in order to gain access to the electrical connector.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the IPC.
- Remove the IPC from the I/P.
