Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2003 GMC Envoy XL, 2003 GMC Envoy, and 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the center console shift lever bezel (Oldsmobile only). Refer to CONSOLE SHIFT LEVER BEZEL REPLACEMENT (OLDSMOBILE)  in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Remove the lower closeout/insulator panel (GMC only). Refer to CLOSEOUT/INSULATOR PANEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) LOWER (GMC/CHEVROLET)  in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  3. Remove the accessory trim plate. Refer to BEZEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CLUSTER (CHEVROLET)  or BEZEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CLUSTER (GMC/OLDSMOBILE)  or TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ACCESSORY (CHEVROLET)  or TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ACCESSORY (OLDSMOBILE)  in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  4. Remove the 3 screws that retain the radio to the IP.
  5. Partially remove the radio disengaging the radio rear alignment locator (1) to gain access to the electrical connectors.
  6. Disconnect the radio antenna cable.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connectors to the radio.
  8. Remove the radio from the Vehicle.
