Installation Procedure

- Install the compressor mounting stud to the compressor.
- Install the compressor into position on the compressor mounting bracket.
- Install the compressor mounting stud to the engine block.
- Install the upper compressor mounting bolt.
- Install the lower compressor mounting bolts.
- Tighten the compressor mounting stud.
Tighten: Tighten the stud to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Install the compressor mounting nut.
- Front upper
- Front lower
- Rear lower
- Tighten the compressor mounting bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).
- Tighten the compressor mounting nut
Tighten: Tighten the nut to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).
- Remove the cap or tape from the compressor hose assembly.
- Install new sealing washers onto the compressor hose assembly. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
- Install the compressor hose assembly to the compressor.
- Install the compressor hose assembly to compressor retaining bolt.
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 26 N.m (19 lb ft).
- Connect the compressor clutch electrical connector.
- Install the RH exhaust manifold heat shield.
- Install the compressor drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Air Conditioning in Engine Mechanical - 5.7L.
- Install the water pump. Refer to Water Pump Replacement in Engine Cooling.
- Install the battery heat shield. Refer to Battery Heat Shield Replacement in Engine Electrical.
- Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
- Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A . See Special Tools and Equipment .
