Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Chevrolet Corvette. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: A minimum of 2 mm (0.08 in) of foam sealing tape must extend beyond the edge of the retainer to prevent water leaks.

  1. Apply foam sealing tape to a reusable retainer.
  2. Apply a bead of sealer GM P/N 12345739 Canadain P/N 10953541 across the front of the window blow out clip above the screw hole as shown in the illustration.
  3. Install the clip to the retainer aligning the clip to the front hole in the retainer.

  5. Apply a bead of sealer GM P/N 12345739 Canadain P/N 10953541 across the full length of the back of the retainer outside the screw holes as shown in the illustration.
  6. Position the retainer to the marks made before removal.
  7. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  8. Install the forward screw aligning the retainer fore and aft.
  9. IMPORTANT: Stripped, broken, or improperly seated screws must be replaced or repaired to prevent water leaks.
  10. Install the remaining screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the side weatherstrip retainer screws to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

  12. Apply a bead of sealer GM P/N 12345739 Canadain P/N 10953541 to the ends of the retainer and install the side weatherstrip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Lift Off Panel .
  13. Install the roof panel.
