Folding Top Latch Adjustment

- Adjust the latch handle (1) for proper fit, by raising or lowering the striker (3).
- Use a nylon mallet and a drift to punch the striker (3). Punch upward to loosen the striker or punch downward to tighten the striker.
- Inspect the striker screws for proper torque.
Tighten: Tighten the striker screws 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Loosen the latch handle bolts.
- Reposition the latch handle forward or rearward. To avoid squeaks and rattles maintain a minimum of 2 mm (0.08 in) clearance between latch handle and the latch striker.
- Tighten the latch handle bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 13 N.m (10 lb ft).
IMPORTANT:
You should not have to loosen the striker screws.
NOTE:

Assure that the latch handle base is parallel to the striker.
