Installation Procedure

IMPORTANT: The lock pillar weatherstrip must be installed before the door window weatherstrip and retainer to achieve a good seal.

  1. Apply continuous a 6 mm (0.25 in) high 100 mm (4 in) long bead of sealer (3) to the upper rear corner of the roof and lock pillar.
  2. Apply a 6 mm (0.25 in) high 100 mm (4 in) long bead of sealer (4) across the lower edge of the roof panel onto the lock pillar.
  3. Install the lock pillar upper reveal molding (2).

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the lock pillar weatherstrip retainer.

    Tighten:  Tighten the lock pillar weatherstrip retainer screws to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

  6. Apply a 6 mm (0.25 in) high 100 mm (4 in) long bead of sealer across the lower edge of the retainer onto the lock pillar.
  7. Install the door window weatherstrip retainer and weatherstrip.
