Removal Procedure

If necessary, the rear compartment lift window panel may be manually released by pulling on the manual release cables located behind the cargo compartment rear corner carpet panels. Access the cables through the slots in the corner carpet panels.

  1. Open the rear compartment lift window panel.
  2. Remove the rear floor side stowage compartment cover.

  4. Remove the rear/end corner carpet trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Carpet Replacement - Rear Corner (Coupe) or Trim Panel Carpet Replacement - Rear Corner (Convertible) or Trim Panel Carpet Replacement - Rear Corner (Hardtop) in Interior Trim.
  5. Slide the cargo lamp up out of the trim panel.

  7. Disconnect the electrical harness from the latch.
  8. Remove the bolts attaching the latch.
  9. Remove the latch.
