Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Chevrolet Corvette. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    CAUTION: Do not attempt to repair or alter the head impact energy-absorbing material glued to the headliner or to the garnish trims. If the material is damaged, replace the headliner and/or the garnish trim. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.
  1. Install the headliner retainer to the #3 bow.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the headliner retainer screws to the #3 bow.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  4. Install the headliner retainer screws to the #4 bow.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the support strap screws for the rear window to the #4 bow.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the retainer screws for the headliner elastic strap to the rear side rails.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  8. Install the headliner screws to the rear side rails.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  9. Install the retainers screws for the headliner elastic strap to the #5 bow.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  11. Position the #1 and #5 bow up.

  13. Install the headliner retainer screws to the #2 bow.

    Tighten:  Tighten the to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  15. Install the headliner extension push-on retainers to the #1 bow stud.

  17. Install the right and left side headliner screws to the #1 bow.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  19. Staple the headliner to the #1 bow.
  20. Before stapling the top cover to the #1 bow, refer to Folding Top Cover Tension Adjustment - Front .
  21. Reposition the folding top to the original position.
