Removal Procedure

- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE in General Information.
- Remove the frame brace (required on extended versions).
- Remove the nuts that secure the muffler to the catalytic converter pipe.IMPORTANT: If there is damage to any part of the exhaust muffler assembly replace as an assembly.
- Inspect the exhaust muffler and the front pipe of the exhaust muffler for any damage if it is to be reused.
- Separate the muffler from the hanger insulators.
- Remove the muffler.
- If there is any damage aft of the exhaust muffler:
- 7.1. Suitably support the exhaust system.
- 7.2. Cut the exhaust pipe (1), where the damage is located.
- 7.3. Remove the damaged exhaust pipe and resonator.
