Removal (Monte Carlo, With Folding Rear Seat)

- Pull tabs on rear seat cushion retainers in order to release rear seat cushion. See Figure. Remove rear seat cushion by lifting up and pulling out of retainer. Remove rear seat cushion from vehicle.
- Remove nuts from rear seat retainer at bottom of rear seat back. See Figure. Fold rear seat back cushions down. Remove bolts from rear seat latches. See Figure. Remove rear seat latches from rear seat back. Fold rear seat back cushions up. Reposition seat belts from rear seat back. Remove rear seat back from vehicle.
- Remove push-in retainers from front of rear window trim panel. Lift rear window trim panel and remove seat belts through slots in rear window trim panel. Slide rear window trim panel forward to disengage integral hook from retaining hole and remove rear window trim panel. Remove rear shelf. See Figure.
- Remove rear seat belt retractor bolt. Remove rear seat belt anchor bolt. Remove rear seat belt retractor from vehicle.
- Remove push-in retainer from center of coat hook using a small flat-bladed tool. Remove coat hook from headliner. Remove rear quarter upper trim in by disengaging push-in retainers. See Figure.
- Remove windshield pillar garnish molding from clip retainers on upper side rail. See Figure. Remove windshield pillar garnish molding from windshield pillar. Remove windshield pillar garnish molding from front door carpet retainer, pulling up and back. Remove windshield pillar garnish molding from vehicle. Remove upper side rail clip retainer if damaged in removal of windshield pillar garnish molding.
- Starting at right side of windshield, carefully lift upwards on defroster grille in order to release retainers. See Figure. Continue working to left until all of retainers are released. Disconnect Daytime Running Lights (DRL) sensor from defroster grille. See Figure. Remove defroster grille.
- Disengage Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) retainers. Disconnect RCDLR electrical connectors. Remove RCDLR. See Figure.
