Removal & Installation (Without Sunroof)

CAUTION:
Use correct fastener in correct location. Replacement fasteners must be correct part number for application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in service procedures. DO NOT use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage fastener. Use correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to part and systems.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove overhead console cover retaining screw and remove cover. Release tabs on each side of overhead console assembly and remove overhead console assembly from headliner. See Figure. Disconnect wiring harness connectors. Remove Driver Information Center (DIC) retaining screws and remove DIC.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Calibrate compass on new DIC. See COMPASS CALIBRATION under PROGRAMMING.
NOTE:
When installing roof console, apply foam tape to wiring harness. Secure wiring harness in proper position to headliner.
