Exhaust Manifold Installation

Install the exhaust manifold gasket.

Install the exhaust manifold.
Add threadlock GM P/N United States 12345493, GM P/N Canada 10953488 to the exhaust manifold bolt threads.
Install the exhaust manifold bolts.

NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts.
Tighten
1. 5.1. Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts a first pass in sequence to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
2. 5.2. Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts a second pass in sequence to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
3. 5.3. Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts a final pass in sequence to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

Install the exhaust manifold heat shield studs (if required).
Tighten

Tighten the exhaust manifold heat shield studs to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.
Add anti-seize GM P/N United States 12371386, GM P/N Canada 993128 to the exhaust manifold heat shield nuts.
Install the exhaust manifold heat shield nuts.
Tighten

Tighten the exhaust manifold heat shield nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
