Installation Procedure

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Install the rear axle drain plug.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the rear axle drain plug to 48 N.m (35 lb ft).

  2. Fill the rear axle with axle lubricant. Use the proper fluid. Refer to Capacities - Approximate Fluid   and Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations   in Maintenance and Lubrication.

  3. Install the rear axle fill plug.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the rear axle fill plug to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).

  4. Lower the vehicle.
