Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the radiator air intake baffle. Refer to AIR INTAKE BAFFLE REPLACEMENT - RADIATOR  in Body Front End.
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY  in Engine Controls 4.2L.
  3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT  in Engine Mechanical 4.2L.
  4. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
  5. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose (1) from the power steering pump.
  6. Disconnect the power steering cooler hose (2) from the power steering pump.
  7. Disconnect the wiring harness from the wiring loom on the power steering pump.

  8. Remove the power steering pump mounting bolts.
  9. Remove the power steering pump.
  10. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to POWER STEERING PULLEY REPLACEMENT (4.2L)   or  POWER STEERING PULLEY REPLACEMENT (5.3L)   .
