Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2003 GMC Envoy XL, 2003 GMC Envoy, 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer, and 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the coolant bypass valve. Refer to COOLANT BYPASS VALVE REPLACEMENT .
  2. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement (LL8) or Transmission Replacement (LM4) in Automatic Transmission - 4L60/4L65-E.
  3. Remove the heater outlet hose (3) from the heater core (1).

  4. Position the outlet heater hose clamp (6) at the water pump using J 38185.
  5. Remove the heater outlet hose (7) from the outlet hose fitting.
  6. Remove the heater outlet hose.
